COMMA+CUT
We tell stories that move people. We know when to let silence linger and when to cut to the chase.
Intuitive. Thoughtful. Impactful.
El is a multidisciplinary creative based in Singapore with a background in factual television production. She specialises in turning abstract ideas into clear, compelling narratives — drawing from experience across broadcast, editorial, and corporate communications.
She believes good design isn't about looking pretty — it should be practical and functional. It should help to solve real-life problems for a section of society, no matter how small. Her work is intuitive, thoughtfully constructed, and quietly impactful. Living with Parkinson's Disease has deepened her sensitivity to nuance, bringing empathy and adaptability to every project.
“From scripting promos to shaping brand identities, El’s work lives at the intersection of good design and storytelling — anchored in creativity’s power to inform, connect, and move people.”

Marketing Leadership Forum
2025 | Anglo American | Role: Visual Design
The brief seemed simple: refresh the visual identity of a long-running internal event. The real challenge? Striking the right balance — preserving what worked, while exploring how far the team could push the design.
Rather than chase one “perfect” concept, El presented 12 distinct variations, each testing a different level of change. Some stayed close to the original with subtle shifts in colour and gradients. Others pushed further, experimenting with new type hierarchies, motion-inspired contours, and bolder layout structures.
The process gave stakeholders a chance to define their own comfort zone. By showing a full spectrum — from safe to bold — El helped them see and choose the kind of change that felt right. The final design blended familiarity with freshness: confident typography, fluid lines, and a layout that reflects how marketing is evolving — bold, agile, and grounded.

GOOD GIRLS DON’T SHAKE
In-progress | Personal Project | Role: Writer
This memoir-in-progress is El’s attempt to make sense of a body that no longer follows instructions. After ten years of living with Parkinson’s, El has come to believe that stories—especially the quiet, unflinching ones—can shift how we see illness, identity, and resilience. Good Girls Don’t Shake isn’t a manifesto. It’s a record of moments EI couldn’t forget, even when her body tried to.
Excerpt from book:
She had only intended to go to the pantry.
The newsroom was overly bright.
Too much movement, like static.
The noise came in waves.
Phones. Clicking. Laughter, half-swallowed.
Her right foot resisted.
She paused. Tried again. Nothing.
No pain. Just absence.
Like something unplugged.
Still, she moved. Or tried to.
WHY IT MATTERS
2017-2020 | Channel News Asia | Role: Series Producer; Senior Producer
Why It Matters holds significant importance for El due to her extensive leadership role and the series' groundbreaking achievements. As the Senior Producer and Series Producer for the flagship info-ed program, she spearheaded its creation, overseeing everything from script development to video editing and managing its substantial budget. She was also instrumental in setting the show's unique look, feel, and tone, developing its successful "recipe and formula".
The series was a vehicle for innovation, incorporating advanced computer graphics and visual effects – a first for a current affairs show in Singapore – to break down complex ideas and make data visceral. This effort significantly raised the bar for production value, aligning with her goal to distinguish her work. El was deeply involved in securing the right talent and negotiating the budget for these sophisticated graphics. Ultimately, the show achieved critical acclaim and high viewership, garnering prestigious awards, high ratings, and positive audience feedback. This external validation made her "incredibly proud" of the team's efforts and the series' impact.
